We have a specialism in and passion for working with charities. Understanding the complexities of the sector isn’t something which every communications agency can get right - it takes expertise, experience, and time.


As charities and voluntary organisations face a tougher time than ever, we believe that the not-for-profit sector needs to think more commercially. We understand the challenges which organisations face, helping them to plan communications with a business focus so that they are able to compete successfully and ensure survival into the future. Our approach is to start right from the beginning, with a strong sense of strategic direction as a foundation for successful communication.

As well as her work in the commercial and government sectors, Lara Samuels, Director of The Communications Hub, has a wealth of experience in the charity world. She has been a charity Campaigns Director, has worked on numerous projects with charities large and small, and has been on the Board of Trustees for the Octavia Foundation since October 2011.

The Communications Hub offers a variety of services to charitable and not-for-profit organisations to meet their very specific needs. This can range from a one-off strategic planning day, to consultancy projects, training for capacity building, and ongoing management of communications functions. Across all of our services we strive to make sure that our clients are reaching the right people in the right way. This could be to promote services, fundraise, boost awareness, or recruit volunteers, to name just a few.

Most of all, we're driven by making a genuine difference to the way that our clients operate, and the positive results that they get from this. Our clients come back to us, and they refer us on to their contacts and networks too.

The Communications Hub worked with Sound Connections on developing our communications strategy and how we could improve our advocacy. Lara is an excellent trainer and facilitator and we benefited a huge amount from her expertise and insight.
